There are different types of Missions your survivors can venture on.

Chapter missions: Progress in the story arcs of the game and find resources, survivors, and new survivor classes.

Scavenge missions: Gain XP, supplies, and equipment to help you survive the apocalypse.

Challenge missions: Play for stars and rewards to help your guild rise to fame in the challenge leaderboards.

Outpost missions: Raid other players to gain trade goods as well as influence to make your way to the top of the outpost leaderboards.

Season missions: Play through content related to the TV show to find rewards, tokens, and unlock new Heroes.

 

Distance missions: Play through the distance map (either hard or normal) to gain different rewards.
